So, this is Haute Couture?

On Monday, designer Karl Lagerfeld presented his Haute Couture collection. But it didn't really look like Haute Couture. Here some photos:

Jeans combined with Tweed-Blazer and Ballerinas? Very usual. But: the devil is in the details. Lagerfeld used "more than 10 million pearls, crystals and sequins".

Lagerfeld explained: "Workaday life doesn't need opulence. My collection catches the spirit of young women but it is still haute couture. Today, everybody wears jeans. So, I had to adapt my designs."

But what about models wearing flat shoes?

"I was fed up seeing the models walking like the Eiffel Tower on this 15 cm to 20 cm chopines. They really look disabled"

Aishwarya Rai-Katrina Kaif-Kareena Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra-Ayesha Takia: Without Makeup!

Make up and Bollywood actresses have almost been simultaneous. When two actresses star in the same film, they often get insecure and want the best make up man for themselves. Almost all topmost actresses endorse some cosmetic brand or the other and religiously use them, no matter how much they declare that they hate make up.

Fact is that most actresses develop cold feet when asked not to use make up on screen and they give all sorts of excuses to back out from the film.Still, there have been actresses who have taken up the challenge of ditching make up on screen and have been appreciated for their natural looks. Here we list five actresses who did not don greasepaint in atleast in their one or two films.

There is no doubt that Aishwarya Rai is a natural beauty. People have complemented her about her looks since the day she joined the film industry. Fellow actress Priyanka Chopra once commented that while we, mortals were made in a day, god must have taken a vacation to make Aishwarya. This complement itself speaks about the magnitude of Aishwarya’s beauty.

Still, no filmmakers ever thought of showing her natural beauty to the world. When director Rituporno Ghosh was making Chokher Bali, he always had Aishwarya Rai in mind from the very beginning and that too without make up. As Aishwarya showed her translucent back in white saris without blouse and her natural complexion in the film, people could not stop raving about her once more.

Kareena Kapoor went without make up for a scene in Jab We Met. When director Imtiaz Ali instructed her that she will not be allowed to wear any make up, she naively said that she will go for a no make-up look. It was then that the director clarified that no amount of greasepaint will be put on her face.

Kareena, even without all that make-up looked fabulous in the scene and it was perfectly in sync with the mood of the character she was playing.

The glam doll Katrina Kaif plays the role of a tough, no non sense politician in her upcoming film’Rajneeti’.The look of her character has been styled accordingly. She is seen wearing cotton starched saris in the film and there is no single trace of make-up on her face.

It is said that Katrina has played her life’s biggest and toughest role in Rajneeti and this film will showcase her powerful acting skills which has not been explored that much in her earlier films.

Bubbly girl Ayesha Takia, in her film, or did not put any make-up. Even though the film was a commercial failure, critics appreciated it very much and Ayesha, too, got praises for her no makeup look and excellent acting.

Priyanka Chopra played the role of a middle class college girl in Kaminey and ditched the pancake for most scenes of the film. She was seen dressed in simple salwar kurtis and the hair too, had this messy look since Sweety, the character she played in the film could not afford to be glamorous. The film was a super hit and people could not stop talking about Kaminey.
