Sonar’s collection at Pakistani Fashion Week was an enchanting, magical experience and even though the stunning jewellery stole the show, the models outfits were also designed by Sonar creating the striking, gothic atmosphere on the catwalk against a stunning backdrop of velour, draped materials and hoop skirts.

Zainab’s stunning collection had a true classical feel and took the audience back to traditional eastern attires but with a contemporary twist. All of Zainab’s outfits were feminine and elegant but the looks were kept fresh with unusual colour combinations providing a wow factor. The clothes had structure but flowed beautifully down the catwalk. Colours such as cream, gold, blue, red and pink all in eye catching hues were combined together to make a stunning catwalk collection.

Akif Mahmood, the young dynamic designer who only graduated from the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design last year has already made his presence felt in the industry through his funky and unusual designs. His latest collection for Pakistan Fashion Week UK, inspired by the Pakistani kite flying festival ‘Basant’, used dark blue as its base colour, symbolising the colour of the night and brighter colours in the motifs and embroideries to symbolise the kites themselves.

French styled velvet jackets, Lahore’s old buildings, jumpsuits inspired from the Far East and strikingly vibrant waistcoats were all fused together with traditional Pakistani embroidery to create a truly outstanding catwalk collection
