Hublot Pays Tribute to Ayrton Senna with its Latest Tourbillon Timepiece

Even nineteen years after his death, Ayrton Senna casts quite a shadow. Widely regarded as the best racing driver in history, Senna won three Formula One World Championships with McLaren before his life and career were cut tragically short at the ripe young age of 34.

Among the many parties keeping Senna's legend alive is Swiss watchmaker Hublot, which has produced a series of timepieces in tribute of the late, great racing driver. The latest is the MP-06, which stands as the most complicated yet.

Crafted with the blessing of Ayrton's sister Viviane, and unveiled recently by her son (his nephew) Bruno, this fourth timepiece in Hublot's Senna collection follows on the success of the Big Bang Senna (released in 2007), the Big Bang Foudroyante Senna (2009) and the King Power Ayrton Senna (unveiled on what would have been Ayrton's 50th birthday at the 2010 Brazilian Grand Prix).

 The new MP-06 Senna is built around a tourbillon movement with 155 components and a 5-day power reserve, housed in a tonneau case with the Senna logo at 9 o'clock on the sapphire dial. It's available in King Gold, titanium, or black PVD titanium, with only 41 examples of each to be made, and comes with a miniature reproduction of Ayrton's racing helmet.

HUBLOT F1 ™ KING POWER INTERLAGOS

Sporting the same cobalt blue (pantone 280) that is found in the centre of the Brazilian national flag, the F1™ King Power Interlagos is rendered unique by several features executed in a range of high-tech materials directly inspired by Formula 1™ (some of which have never before been used in watchmaking), such as the ceramic bezel with a circular-grained satin finish, adorned with multiple holes evoking the high performance of a brake disc, a strap made from rubber and Nomex™, a synthetic fibre developed by Dupont De Nemours which – thanks to its low combustibility and thermal stability – is used in the outfits worn by F1™ drivers, and the push-buttons for starting and resetting, the split-seconds function and a 30-minute to 3-hour counter.

The Formula 1 King Power Interlagos Watch was created by Hublot, to honor the Grand Prix of the Formula 1 World Championship, hosted this year by Interlagos, the famous Brazilian circuit.

Also inspired by the Brazilian flag, the designer chose a beautiful cobalt blue for the band and dial-face. At a closer look one can see that the ceramic bezel has small holes in it, resembling a car’s brake disc, and the 2 reset buttons reflect the F1 root.

Only 250 pieces of this magnificent timepiece are to be sold by the Hublot dealers. This is your unique change to own a watch that also commemorates the end of the 2011 Championship.

$5 million watch by Hublot

Hublot $5 million diamond watch

Swiss watchmaker has revealed it's $5 million worth masterpiece on Wednesday in Basel.
It took 14 months of 17 people's hard work to create this outstanding piece covered with 1282 diamonds, from which 3 are over 3cts each and total of 140ct.

Jean-Claude Biver, president of the company which is owned by French LMVH said it will be difficult to make more expensive one "because the surface of the watch is limited".

This unique item for a lady will be offered to several potential buyers, who still remain unknown.

The Glamorous Big Bang Boa Bang Watch from Hublot

 The 41-mm case is available in two versions: stainless steel and 18-karat rose gold. The green or brown boa prints cover the dial and the denim straps sewn over black rubber straps. The bezel is decorated with different gemstones, such as pale green baguette tsavorites, pale green sapphires and tourmalines for the green version, or baguette andalusites, together with transparent smoky, smoky, and dark smoky quartz for the brown version. There are also eight diamonds on the dial, totaling 0.14 carats.

Inside the case there is a HUB43000 automatic movement with power reserve of approximately 42 hours. The hands are rhodium-plated, or gold plated depending on the model. The clasp is steel or 18K rose gold deployant buckle. Water resistant to 10 atm (about 100 meters), the watch has a crystal sapphire protecting the dial, with an exterior/interior antireflective coating. Hublot will only produce 250 examples of the luxurious Big Bang Boa Bang.
