Top 10 Bollywood songs of the year

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE once said, if music be the food of love, play on. 2010 may be accredited as an year of popular music where stalwarts ranging from A.R. Rahman to Pritam, musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and the very latest Amit Trivedi got everyone grooving to their songs.
 
Year 2010 also gave a platform to international composers such as Wayne Sharp and fusion band Indian Ocean to showcase their talents to the billion strong population in India as well as overseas. Given below is the list of some numbers which even after an year refuses to fade from people's memory. 
  1. Tere Naina: Carrying a mystical Sufi flavour, the song from My Name Is Khan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol had taken the music lovers by storm and left everyone humming the song irrespective of the time and situation being.
  2. Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji: Undoubtedly one of the best songs composed in 2010, the song from Ishqiya starring Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan, composer Vishal Bhardwaj roped in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to croon the song. The song manages to keep the era of true love alive which were earlier rendered by Mukesh in most of Raj Kapoor's films.
  3. By The Way: The peppy track composed by Amit Trivedi for Aisha picturised on Sonam Kapoor was sung by Anushka Manchanda. The song went on well with the young one's in the metros as it clearly spoke about its energy which was compounded by Anushka's flawless performance.
  4. Munni Badnaam: The song from Dabanng had everyone irrespective of their geographical locations, shaking their legs on this song. Malaika Arora's dance and appeal towards this song not only got back few companies back in the lime light but also managed to add some grace to the movie.
  5. Sheila Ki Jawaani: From the sheds of Farah Khan, who is all set to release her third film Tees Maar Khan starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, Sheila Ki Jawaani already has people from all walks of life grooving to this song. Kat's belly dancing skills has of late been compared with the likes of Shakira.
  6. Beera: A.R. Rahman along with Mani Ratnam gave the listeners a truly unexplored area in music. Rahman's composition which includes a lot of experimentation, struck the right chords with music lovers and created a genius called Beera from Raavan.
  7. Udi: The song from Guzaarish also marked the debut of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali as a music director. The song, sung by Sunidhi Chauhan had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan showing off her Flamenco moves.
  8. Mora Piya: A classic example of amalgamation of Indian classical music by a western music director set new examples for diversified music. The song from Raajneeti complemented the tough characters in the movie giving it a more human touch.
  9. Dhoop Ke Makaan: Sung by Shekhar Ravjiani and Sunidhi Chauhan, the song from Break Ke Baad starring Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan was well received by the listeners as the duo Vishal-Shekhar tried exploring new genres of music.
  10. Yeh Des Hai Mera: The movie, which was based upon the Chittagong Uprising, had some soulful songs in it in which yeh des hai mera topped the charts.
